In a recent sexual abuse lawsuit, two young girls who are legally blind allege that they were abused by a vision specialist. The complaint names Livonia and Garden City, both Michigan public school systems, as defendants, as well as school principals, superintendents, and the vision specialist. The alleged molestation occurred in October 2018 and December 2019 when the girls were both 8 years old. According to the lawsuit, after the Livonia school system was informed of the alleged incidents, the school failed to terminate the vision specialist. The complaint also states that neither school district warned students or parents about the incidents.
