Complaints to the University of Texas at Austin’s Title IX office increased by 300+ in the last academic year, according to a report released by the school. The report details incidents of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking that UT employees witnessed or received information about during the 2020-2021 school year.
According to the Executive Summary prepared by UT, 1,415 reports of this type of misconduct were submitted; an increase of over 300 from the previous year’s report. Most of the incidents were submitted to confidential employees on campus, yet only about 25% of the reports submitted to the Title IX office were ever investigated, according to the report.
