A new lawsuit claims that insurance company Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. discriminated against a former vice president of the company. The suit cites age discrimination after the plaintiff was allegedly fired at age 60, and replaced with someone younger. The plaintiff also contends he received ageist comments from colleagues and was evaluated differently from younger employees. This resulted in the plaintiff being placed on an “unwarranted performance improvement plan,” which led to his unlawful firing, the lawsuit claims.
